Cold Weather

As the winter months start to rush in and the weather starts to get colder let us share a thought for other less fortunate then ourselves our older neighbours, someone who is sick or house bound I am sure that a few minutes of our time may well make a big difference to them and quite possible make a bad day better.
We all need to keep warm, but save energy as well, one easy cost effective way is to keep our homes energy efficient is to have both our wall cavities and lofts insulated. For more information go to    http://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=11468
Not only do us humans need help in cold weather but birds also find it very hard, so a little food put out daily will help and I am sure bring some colour into your garden as a thank you. if you need more info on the feeding of our garden birds then go to the RSPB web site.

Bradley Ward PACT Meeting

AT a resent PACT meeting (Police And Communities Together) that I attended, the general public that were there felt that while we live in a very safe and low crime area we still have to suffer Anti-Social crimes from Dog Fowling to cars speeding around the estate and inconsiderate parking.
You may have noticed our PCSO walking around our roads, in fact, you may hopefully have spoken to him, he is doing his best to deal with the small amount of problems we have, which as I say are not many but if we can reduce the small number of Anti-Social crimes then we will alleviate the very very small amount of minor crimes, but we need your help.
If you see any thing then please report it, you can ring the Police on 08452777444 non urgent, remember 999 is for Urgent and Emergency calls only, and someone will get back to you. or you can contact me by going to the link "Fix My Street" on this blog page, and leaving me a message.
Remeber we all live in this area and we all need to respect it for I can't think of a better place to live.

Wednesday 23 September 2009

Just over a few weeks ago I had a report of over grown trees and brambles at the junction of Coombeshead Rd and Ashburton Rd, with the help of Mark Payne from TDC, I have arrange to get the area tided up so by the time you read this blogg it should have been done. If you have any problems in your area (Bradley Ward) please let me know and I will see what I can do, with no guarantees contact me through this blogg or by phone via TDC.

Over the last weekend (19th-20th) I with several others, walked around the boundary of Newton Abbot, this is the first time in 30yrs the beating of the bounds has taken place and some 30 plus walkers covered the 17 miles in the two days. Although very tiring, the good but later summer weather helped to ease the pain. my thanks to the Town Council and the small committee that spent over 12 months organising the event. My thanks also must go to the parishes which bound with Newton Abbot for their help with the beatings, by meeting the walkers at Boundary Stones throughout the 17 miles and assisting with the official readings. This was an excellent event and I look forward to a re-run in 7yrs time.
